Technical information is generally written with a structure that is easily followed by the reader. Topic oriented writing reinforces good structure by starting with a hieratical outline of topics that have a title, short description and body. Since the content of each topic is self contained, or is supposed to be written to stand on its own in meaning and completeness, the technical information becomes an aggregate of content objects having inherent structure.
