Meeting this objective is not simple given the complexities of the architecture chosen to facilitate topic oriented writing (DITA). The vision that is DITA-Word will empower users with a tool to create, edit and save a verity of DITA information type (info-type) files, with minimal amount training. This should be possible because MS-Word brings an excellent user interface and API that can leverage events to deliver a good topic oriented writing environment. The system can interact with DITA info-type files without any knowledge of the XML code to hold content in one place ready for reuse and repurposing.
