DITA-Word must be initialized each time MS Word is run when it is not installed as a Start-up Add-In. To install DITA-Word as a Global Add-In, choose the “Templates and Add-In...” command from the Tools menu. When a dialog appears with a Global templates and add-ins section, click the check box next to the file name DITA-Word.dot to load it into MS Word.
When this file is not present in the list of available Global Add-Ins, click the Add button and locate this file in the MS Office template directory (i.e. C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates). The user name in the example directory path is the user name of the current windows session.
