List of Possible Improvements

DITA-Word as with any software product can be infinitely improved. Historically this meant adding features onto features that in some cases made simple programs quite complicated. Because the prime objective of DITA-Word is to “Keep things simple”, possible improvements must be focus of making thing simple.

When features are added they must not require a lot of user involvement when used.

• Outstanding System Issues
  Many DITA-Word system level issues exist that make it less then stable. The following issues need correction.
• Map Related Improvements
  A dita map is used to establish relationship between info-type files associated with a subject.
• Info-Type Related Improvements
  The interaction with info-types is severely limited at this point. The primary reason for this is that all DITA element tags are hard code mapped to user defined styles in word. The biggest improvement to DTIA-Word that must be pursued is the development of a specialized DITA info-type called tagstyle.
